Boreal Mixed Media Jam

The Boreal Mixed Media Arts Jam is small festival celebrating art inspired by our natural and rural setting. Workshops, hosted by professional artists, are designed to be open to all levels. At the Jam people experiment with new creative media in an informal environment. With a festival pass participants can attend as many workshops as they like, or they may choose to pursue one media for the weekend in this creatively charged atmosphere. It takes place August 30 and 31 at Moosehead Hall, near Bright Sand Lake, North West Saskatchewan. For more information, see the workshop schedule.

  1. I was at last years Borealjam and had a great time. I am planning on attending again and bringing a few other artists that are interested. My cabin is at Bright Sand Lake, so I am only a few minutes away. I can’t commit too much this year as I have a family function I have to attend later on – on the Saturday. Next year I may be able to do a plein air workshop as I have painted the area for over 30 years.

Can we bring our fees when we arrive?

    See you in September.

  2. Hi Paul,

I’m glad to hear that you had a good time at last year’s Jam and are coming back! We really try to make it a fun festival.

You can definitly bring your fees when you arrive, unless you’re doing the soapstone sculpture workshop. Because we have to purchase the materials for that workshop beforehand, we need people to pre-register and pay the extra materials fee ($15) for that workshop. But if you’re not taking that workshop, just drop by.

I just realized that we don’t have an updated registration form on the website, so the material fee for the soapstone workshop wasn’t mentioned. Sorry about that. We’ll get an up-to-date registration form online as soon as possible.

Anyways, hope to see you there, and get in touch with us if you want to do a workshop next year. We start looking for facilitators in February or so.

    Cheers,
    Lisa Guenther

  3. By the way, nice website, Paul!
